Born in the “Home of the Blues” - Memphis, TN, and spending most of his adolescence in the Texas Triangle - Houston, Austin, & Dallas, Anthony Skinner has developed a rich musical history and vocabulary that has afforded him several decades now of chart-topping songs, multiple award nominations, and an influence that runs deep in the Nashville music industry scene. The moment he inherited a turntable and some boxes of old vinyl records as a young teen, Skinner’s infatuation with music was unlocked. The Lord met him in a very personal way through those dusty albums and began revealing to him the plan He’d always had for his life. The musical stylings of Bob Dylan, Bill Withers, Al Green and Daniel Lanois - to name a few - are some of his earliest influences, but Anthony would describe his songwriting style and musical sound as “a blend of blue-eyed gospel, soul, and worship, infused with cinematic production nuances.” Since giving himself over fully to the art and craft of songwriting, he has accumulated a number of prestigious accolades such as having several songs in the top 25 on CCLI, a certified Gold single, a Billboard #1 and multiple Dove Award nominations. Some of the writing partnerships that Anthony has developed over the years include Newsboys, Jesus Culture, Cece Winans, Bethel Music, Jeremy Riddle, Bryan & Katie Torwalt, Jon Reddick, and many others. Anthony also has a deep love for creating music both as an artist and a producer. Some of the talent he’s gotten to collaborate in the studio with are Abe Laboriel Jr. (Paul McCartney), Tommy Sims (Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder), Jerry McPherson (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill), and Jacob Lowery (Michael McDonald). The sole mission Anthony carries, regardless of the creative lane he’s walking on any given day, is for people to find connection with God, themselves, and others through anything he has a hand in.
